Projects
Researchers at the Center for Innovation (CFI) have performed some very successful research in the areas of construction of biofilm barriers and biodegradation of a number of soil and groundwater contaminants including nitrate, TNT and TCE. A summary of some of these results can be found through the links below. We hope that you find them beneficial and will contact CFI for further information to discuss potential applications or for assistance in designing and implementing your remediation project.

Center for Innovation, Inc.
The Center for Innovation, Inc. (CFI) Biotechnology Laboratory in Bozeman, Montana, offers microbiological analyses specializing in biofilms and bacterial attachment to surfaces. Specific analyses include total direct microbial counts, heterotrophic plate counts, anaerobic plate counts, and most probable number assays for a variety of bacterial groups including sulfate-reducing bacteria and iron-oxidizing bacteria.
Our lab can provide you with the following testing capabilities:
Biofilm Testing Systems (testing of anti-biofilm coatings and compounds)
∙ Flow Cells ∙ Rotating Disk Reactors ∙ CDC Biofilm Reactors ∙ Drip-Flow Reactors
Biofilm Barrier Testing (High and Low Pressure)
∙ Sand Columns ∙ Berea Sand Stone Cores ∙ Porous Media Columns
Epifluorescent and Transmitted Light Microscopy
Scanning Electron Microscopy
